Hummingbird Mold
This adorable hummingbird was originally sculpted by Jessica Sexton with the intent of creating a mold to cast and preserve funeral flowers for her grieving customers. Due to popular demand, Jessica is willing to share all the extra molds she is able to create! That way others can do the same!
The finished Hummingbird sits approximately 2.5 inches tall and is 3.75 inches peak to tail. It weighs approximately 58 grams.
The mold holds approximately 60 ml of resin and made with 0a silicone for easy demolding.
Tips for Success!
-Even though this mold is fairly small, I recommend using a deep pour resin for longer working time.
-Start with degassed mixed resin!
-When pouring, start by just filling the head, then pinch the beak! The 0a silicone makes this a lot easier to get air bubbles that will likely get trapped! Once the beak is clear, continue filling.
-Keep pipettes handy! They are extremely useful in removing stubborn bubbles that may hang on to the side or hide in the tail! Avoid Torches and Heat!
-If casting flowers, make sure they are 100% dry first!
-BE PATIENT!!!
-If dull spots appear after demolding, buff with rubbing compound. These are not intended to be flood coated!
*** Please keep in mind, Jessica put A LOT of hours in creating this mold to cast flowers for her customers and is willing to share with others to do the same but is not obligated to do so!! This is handmade and NOT mass-produced junk from temu or amazon!!! Please be respectful and do NOT replicate or allow other to replicate!
